🎶💛 Mommy & Me Music — New at FACS! 💛🎶

We’re so excited to launch a brand‑new early childhood music program this spring—created just for young learners and their grown‑ups!

Our first session is a 7‑week musical adventure that welcomes mixed ages (generally 4–7, but siblings are absolutely welcome). Together we’ll enjoy a joyful blend of singing, movement, rhythm play, and hands‑on musical exploration. 🌟

Classes meet every Thursday from March 19 to April 30, 5:00–6:00 pm on the campus of Bluefield University. Families will experience music inspired by classical, traditional, and sacred pieces, along with gentle composer spotlights featuring Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. 🎼

We have only 8 spots available, and tuition is $90 per family for the full session. This new addition to our FACS lineup is a beautiful way to nurture musical curiosity, connection, and creativity.

🌸✍️ Spring Writing Workshop ✍️🌸

We’re gearing up for a creative and inspiring spring at FACS!

Our five‑week ELA‑intensive workshop is open to mixed ages and limited to 10–12 students. Tuition is $90 per student. We’ll meet Wednesdays, April 1–29 from 5:00–6:00 pm on the campus of Bluefield University.

Throughout the month, students will dive into the beauty of language through the Psalms, novels, poetry, and creative writing. We’ll explore author studies featuring C.S. Lewis, Shakespeare, and William Blake, and each student will build a custom writing portfolio that showcases their growth—moving from brainstorming and drafting to a polished essay, plus a research paper, journalism project, and original creative writing (including poetry!). 📚✨

This workshop blends structure with imagination and literary exploration to help students grow in confidence and skill as writers.

Musical theatre is an excellent opportunity for young people to learn stage presence, singing & acting skills, and collaboration with peers and adults. Audition for the new production this week!

BYCT will be holding open auditions for their upcoming production of Finding Nemo Jr. on Thursday March 20 and Friday March 21 from 4-6 pm in Harman Chapel. Ages 6-18 are encouraged to audition with a prepared song selection (preferably musical theatre) 30-60 seconds in length.

*** the Flyer says the choir resumes on the week of the 13th but we will resume the week of the 20th.

Registration for our Choirs will end on January 10th.

First choral rehearsal will be January 20th for our Youth Chorus and January 23rd for our Children’s Chorus.

We had previously put a Microsoft forms document for registrations. We have finally updated the registration through our website. If you have registered through the form, please register through the website again. You’ll be paying the material fee this time.

Choir is tuition free with a once a semester fee of $35 to purchase their music.

Both choirs will perform at the FACS Choir Concert on April 12th at 5 pm.
Music selections will be sent as soon as registrations are processed.

We cannot wait for a great season.
