Artificial intelligence is not equipped to provide the same level of quality mental health support as licensed clinicians. There are several pending bills in Congress to address the risks of using AI, such as requiring AI to provide direct referrals to su***de prevention resources when necessary and prohibiting AI chatbot developers from falsely claiming human-verified outputs.
