๐โ Spending part of this Sunday continuing through Romans, and Romans 1:2 is such a quiet reminder that God is never scrambling to figure out what comes next.
โ(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)โ โ Romans 1:2 KJV
Yesterday's uncertainty does not make God uncertain. Tomorrow's unanswered questions do not catch Him unprepared.
Paul begins Romans by pointing his readers toward something God had already promised through His prophets. The Gospel wasn't God's emergency response when humanity went wrong. His redemptive plan had been promised beforehand in Scripture.
And maybe some of us need that reminder today.
We can become so consumed with asking, โGod, what are You doing?โ that we forget to return to what He has already said.
When you're confused...go back to Scripture.
When you're waiting...go back to Scripture.
When your plans change...go back to Scripture.
When you don't know your next step...go back to Scripture.
Your feelings may change. Circumstances certainly will. God's Word does not.
โFor ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.โ โ Psalm 119:89 KJV
๐ So here's your gentle challenge for Scripture Sunday...before you scroll for someone else's encouragement today, open your Bible and let God's Word speak first.
๐ Read Romans 1:2 for yourself, then tell me in the comments...what promise or passage of Scripture are you holding onto in this season?
And SAVE this post for the next time you need the reminder to return to what God has already said. ๐
