Hot take💥 Mahjong tiles are meant to be played with. Buy the ones you love, bring them to the table, and let them get a little loved. I’m not thinking about resale value when there are mahjongs to be made.

Ready to build confidence after your first lesson, or looking for a relaxed way to practice? Join us for Beginner Mahjong Open Play at the Starkey Ranch Library!

This guided open play session is designed for newer players who know the basics but would like extra support while they play. You’ll have the opportunity to practice reading the National Mah Jongg League card, work through the Charleston, improve your strategy, and ask questions in a friendly, low-pressure environment. Assistance will be available throughout the session, so you never have to worry about getting stuck.

Whether you’ve taken a beginner lesson recently or just need a little extra practice before joining regular open play, this is the perfect next step. Bring your NMJL card if you have one. Mahjong sets will be provided.
