Our 7th grade STEM classes planted milkweed in our pollinator garden today!

Milkweed is an essential part of the Monarch butterfly's life cycle and provides an important food source for Monarch caterpillars. By adding milkweed to our garden, our students are helping create a welcoming habitat for Monarchs as they make their fall and spring migrations! 🦋💙

This Week at FCMS (August 24th - August 28th):

*Book Fair Week! Our Book Fair will begin Monday, August 24th, and will end on Friday, August 28th. Students will visit the Book Fair with their Reading teachers.

Monday: After-school tutoring for Math, Reading, and ELA begins. Tutoring will be offered every Monday through Thursday after school until 4:30 p.m. If you feel your student can benefit from this free service, please contact your student's Math, Reading, or ELA teacher for a permission slip.

Tuesday: Family Book Fair Shopping Day! Families are invited to stop by after school until 4:30 PM to shop the Book Fair together!

Friday: $1 Hat Day! Students can pay $1 to wear their hats for the day. Proceeds will go toward our positive behavior incentives.

Friday: Our 1st Snow-Cone and Popcorn Reward Day! During lunchtime, students can purchase these items with their Rebel Passes.

Sports Schedules:

Tennis: Tryouts will be held on September 1st - 3rd from 3:30-5:00PM. Students must have a current physical and completed ATS before participating.

We’re kicking off our first Real Rebel Talk of the school year by hearing straight from our Rebels! 💙

We asked our 7th & 8th graders:
🎤 “What’s the ONE thing you’re most excited about this school year?”

And with our 6th graders almost one month into their middle school journey, we had to ask:
🎤 “What’s the BEST thing about being a middle schooler so far?”

We love giving our students a chance to share their voices, personalities, and experiences—and you never know when Real Rebel Talk might pop up again! 👀🎥

Our Health classes went outside today to walk the nature trail while completing their Health Pyramid—a model showing how physical, mental, and social well-being are connected to overall wellness. What a great way to learn about healthy choices while enjoying the outdoors! 🌳🚶‍♀️

Our 8th grade students also put their gardening skills to work by harvesting fresh basil and squash from our raised garden to share with our cafeteria manager! Our cafeteria will be using these fresh vegetables in upcoming meals!

It’s exciting to see our students’ hard work in the garden make its way into our school cafeteria! 💙
