Today was the first day of school at Collin College for many of our Blue Ridge students, so we tried to capture a few pictures as they got started!
It is pretty incredible to see our students having the opportunity to leave campus, attend college classes, and begin earning dual credit while they are still in high school.
Collin College has an incredible facility, but what stood out to me just as much were the instructors and the support available to our students. They were personable, welcoming, and clearly committed to helping our kids be successful.
Our students also have access to tutoring, the library/checkout resources, and support for TSIA Math preparation. They are not just earning college credit. They are learning how to navigate a college campus, advocate for themselves, and take advantage of the resources available to them.
Best part for our families is Blue Ridge ISD reimburses 100% of the tuition if students pass their dual credit courses. That’s an incredible savings knowing that students can earn their associates degree and up to 60 hours of college credit.
Pretty awesome way to start the year for these Tigers!
