To whom it may concern;
It is with much regret, a heavy heart, and after trying every other alternative i could possibly try and make work, that I am writing this letter to let you know officially that Mathes Child Care will be closing on April 1st, 2024. Both of us, myself and Jackie, are ready to move on to the next chapter of our lives, and have come to this decision due to some unexpected and larger life changes within our own personal families, that make it impossible for us to be able to continue to run the childcare business here as is, as I (Ashley) am moving out of state to West Virginia this June & Jackie's health issues that have very recently come to light have directed us toward this decision. We have opportunities come our ways that we've decided and need to embark upon. We have truly enjoyed being a part of your family and caring for your child(ren) over the last 12+ years of this business.
While we hope that you stay with us as your childcare provider until the official closing date...we completely understand if you choose to find care earlier. All we ask is that you still honor the 4 week notice as stated in your contract if possible.
As of right now, the last week we will be open will be the week of March 25th , with the final day March 29th.
I know how hard it is to find quality child care which is why I have decided to inform you now 4-6 weeks before closing, so you have time to locate new appropriate care.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me tonight or talk tomorrow at pick up/drop off. It is just such a hectic time to talk then with children coming and going I chose to send an letter instead. Also, please refrain from putting anything on Facebook or any mutual message boards until I know that all of the parents have been notified.
This has been a very hard decision for us and we thank you all for your loyalty and kindness.
I will ensure end of the year tax statements for 2024, still get drafted up and to you for the following year for your taxes.
