In the last few weeks, I had the opportunity to attend FIFA events in and around Dallas, Texas. I met people from all over the world and there was one common theme from all of them. Every single one of them talked about how great the United States is and how lucky we are to live in such a great country. I know that some of my fellow citizens might not feel the same. I would encourage any of those citizens to attend a naturalization ceremony and see all of the emotion as people from all nations, and all ages, become United States citizens. The tears flow like the Mississippi river. I can assure you it’s very emotional. To naturalize to our great country takes years if not a lifetime. It is a very emotional experience. I know that our country is not perfect and there is always room for improvement. However, at the end of the day, this grand experiment has worked! Happy birthday, USA! “This We’ll Defend”!
