One of the best parts of 4-H is the people!

The youth who show up ready to learn.
The volunteers who give their time and knowledge.
The families who support their kids along the way.
The leaders who encourage young people to try something new.

Every person plays a part in making 4-H what it is.

Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize the people who help make 4-H possible.

Thank you to our volunteers, parents, families, educators, mentors, and community supporters who give their time, share their knowledge, encourage our youth, and help create opportunities for them to learn and grow.

To our 4-H families and volunteers, thank you for showing up, trying new things, supporting one another, and being part of our 4-H community. We appreciate everything you do, including the things that often happen behind the scenes.

National 4-H Week 💚

What does 4-H look like?
It looks like trying something new.
It looks like learning by doing.
It looks like showing up, getting involved, and working alongside others.
It looks like discovering a new interest (or realizing you’re really good at something you’ve never tried before).

From animals and agriculture to cooking, photography, archery, LEGO, horses, and more, there’s a place for young people in 4-H to explore what interests them and build skills along the way.

Just one jar of peanut butter can make a big difference for a family in need. Peanut butter is packed with protein, has a long shelf life, and is a favorite item at food pantries. Help Calhoun County 4-H make an impact during the Peanut Butter Challenge by donating unopened jars throughout October!

Last night, our Culinary Competition Club put their skills to the test with a surprise challenge!

👀 Secret Ingredient: Different types of cheeses
🥄 Dish Type: Appetizer

Teams had to think creatively, work together, manage their time, and put their culinary knowledge to work as they developed and prepared their dishes. Our members are continuing to build their culinary knowledge, teamwork, time management, and food preparation skills as they prepare for the 4-H Food Challenge Competition!

🎉💚 It’s National 4-H Week! 💚🎉

This week, we’re celebrating everything that makes 4-H special. The youth who show up ready to learn, the families who support them, the volunteers who give their time, and the community partners who help make our programs possible.

In 4-H, youth have opportunities to try new things, develop real-world skills, discover their interests, build confidence, serve their communities, and grow into leaders. From livestock and horses to cooking, archery, photography, STEM, public speaking, and so much more, there truly is a place for everyone in 4-H!

We’re proud of our Calhoun County 4-H members and all that they are learning, doing, and accomplishing. Thank you to everyone who helps make 4-H possible in our community!
