Just a reminder that this Friday, October 5th, there will be a COST Pathways in Science and Technology event (formerly known as Career Day) in Kehr Union from 10am – 3:30pm.

We strongly encourage all of you to attend to meet prospective employers, attend discussion sessions, and start networking if you haven’t already.

Pathways in Science and Technology is a great opportunity for junior and senior students to directly network with alumni working in prospective career fields. This is a great way to help prepare for the job market, internships or graduate schools.

Computer Science majors Brett Treas and Dylan Gordon pursued undergraduate research projects this summer, focused on uses of the Raspberry Pi “System on a Chip” computer. Brett’s project assembled four of the Rasperry Pi boards into a small computing cluster and explored parallel programming on it; Dylan’s project configured a Raspberry Pi to be students’ personal machines in the Computer Science program’s required “C and Assembly” course. The two presented posters on their projects at the 8th Annual Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium at Bucknell University.

Last night we had our department club/majors trivia game. ACM lost their title to the Digital Forensics club. There were four teams of students and one team of faculty. The results were DF, ACM, Math Club, ACM, and losing gloriously, Faculty!! It was a fun evening for all.
