Brought in White Oak, Chestnut Oak & Red Oak this week with our Oliver OC46 Log Handler. Have logs available now to saw out White Oak (Chestnut Oak) trailer floor in 12' lengths to your dimensions for thickness and width. structure characteristic of the group. Chestnut Oak / Rock Oak (Quercus montana): Yields heavy, durable lumber nearly indistinguishable from white oak in trade.

Yard trees are such a risk. This nice 30" DBH White Pine seemed perfect on the surface. However it had several 16 penny nails embedded in the middle. When halfed with my chainsaw sawmill they were exposed. Closest to the surface was 7" under the bark. They had been there a long time and the metal detector did not flag them out.
This is why yard trees have little to no commercial value. It is not your nails, but the nails previous owners, your parents, or your grandparents put there that haunt us.

Spent a day at this Lancaster County steam show and stepped in as Sawyer to saw a couple of Tulip Poplar logs while the Frick Sawmill was powered by a 22-65 Keck Gonnerman engine.

Had a friend forward this to me from when we were dealing with large Red Oak logs two years ago. All that lumber was quarter sawn into mostly 1x12 & 5/4×12 boards and stack to air dry. It is now dry and available for sale.

Today we sawed out 2"×10" Basswood and 2"×10" Hybrid Poplar for a local "Axe Throwing" business to use on their targets....

Today we sawed out 2"×10" Basswood and 2"×10" Hybrid Poplar for a local "Axe Throwing" business to use on their targets. Should be enough to keep them going for a while. Have a few 2"×6" & 2"x8" left over if someone wants to build their own board for backyard use.

Recently cut these Poplar planks for a family building hatchet throwing targets. They wanted 2"×8" fresh sawn planks. Have Basswood logs on hand and could saw more to order. If interested message me with size and quantity you would need.
