The incredible love and generosity of my friends and family has reminded me every day how lucky I am to have spent almost 30 years with Jill. She is smiling and celebrating above just as much as we are down here. Thanks everyone!!!

Still only able to walk. It’s frustrating but I’m doing what I can.

On a good note we just went over $59,000 for Jills scholarship thanks to my brother Todd and his wife Sue. 3 months to go to meet our goal of $60,000. Huge thank you to everyone!!!!

Back on the treadmill walking again today. Leg has been bothering me from overuse so slowing down and combining a lot of stretching has really helped. I’m improving but it’s hard because I can be very impatient.

Happy New Year everyone. My grandsons love their new hoodies.
Doc says I can walk on the treadmill but very slowly. Well, this was a comfortable pace. No issues. It was nice to be at the gym again if even for a short time. Trying to be patient.
Still getting more donations to the scholarship. $60,000 goal is definitely within reach!!! Thanks everyone. ❤️❤️❤️

Definitely much happier times for me. Dinner with my good friends after my final race in Hollywood Florida. Dinner with lifelong friends at the shore. My Run4Jill medals. And Jill and I at a Steelers game.

Some nerve damage in my left leg has forced me to stop my running for the foreseeable future. Maybe forever. Time will tell.

More tests to come. I’ll keep you all posted. But we are still collecting for the scholarship till May. Just went over $58,000!!!!

Run4Jill went off with a bang. Such a roller coaster of emotions all day. Started thinking if I’m doing the right thing?Am I ending this too soon? Have I given enough?
🤔🤔🤔
Then a very painful right hip during the race forced me to walk much more than I expected. Having my good friend Connie there helped me through some very tough times. That is when I knew that this would definitely be the last race. Felt like a 1000 pound gorilla finally came off my back when we crossed the finish line.

Then dinner last night with my very dear industry friends, my best friend Connie, and a surprise appearance of Sabrina just made for a very special evening. It was a perfect way to reflect on the past 12 years. Everyone made me feel special, loved, and I am so humbled that I have friends and colleagues who will be in my life till the day I die.

I’ll have a few more posts leading up to the scholarship awards in the coming months. We will be collecting till May 2025. Many thanks to everyone making this special day one of the best days of my life.

Tomorrow is my final Run4Jill event. I run for these 2. Jill and my mom both passed away from cancer way too young. They were amazing ladies. Loving wife and mother. Life was not the same when mom died and it’s also not the same now that Jill has been gone for 12 years. But life moves on. New chapters are written. Memories will last forever.

I can’t thank my family, friends, and coworkers enough for supporting this journey. I will be with some very close friends tomorrow and when I get back home we’ll all celebrate this scholarship and all that had a hand in it. More tomorrow!!!

Last weekend run before my final half on Nov 2 in Hollywood Florida. Very bittersweet because Run4Jill is coming to an end but my body is telling me it’s time. Over 30 years of running. Can’t say I’ll stop running because I still enjoy it but I won’t “have to run” anymore.

Second picture is a thank you note my mother placed in the newspaper thanking everyone while she was going through cancer treatments. This was published exactly 2 months before she passed awsy. Miss her more than I can put into words. She and Jill are in heaven telling lots of stories about this crazy family!!!

Exactly 12 years ago she was gone. It's hard to imagine that it's been that long. There was no one like Jill. She had such a special way of treating everyone like family. She never complained. She was always positive. Over 3 years battling that horrible disease and she never gave up. Missed by many. Never forgotten.
