In my experience, judgement is THE biggest thing that holds us back in life.
We get worried that we’ll fail, look stupid, or be rejected, so we stop ourselves from trying.
It’s like putting a dam across a river - the pressure builds up inside us because we’re not expressing ourselves the way we desire to or taking action on our inspiration.
Then, when we see others taking action
- even if it’s messy, even if they fail — we get jealous.
We’re jealous of their bravery.
Their audacity.
Who are they to just try?
Who do they think they are?
We go into stories of privilege, we point out their flaws, we judge them.
Hey, at least they’re giving it a shot!
They’re being brave enough to try.
Messing up in public is VULNERABLE.
When I see anyone trying to embody their expression, even if I don’t think it’s ‘good’, I honor their bravery.
The judgemental voice in your head is a really good litmus test as to how aligned in your own action you are.
Mysteriously enough, once you start trying, being vulnerable, messing up, & stop letting judgement hold you back, that voice that’s always judging others gets quieter.
You start to respect their effort.
So today, channel that judgement into action! Refocus into your own lane, your own dreams!
