Aspire College Admissions Planning & Prep

Comments

I'm looking forward to starting with a new class of Aspire students in my small-group SAT/ACT tutoring this summer! The summer after sophomore year is the perfect time to start my college planning program. So put together a group of 2-4 of your friends and give me a call! I still have room for several more groups. Aspire students have increased their SAT scores by as much as 370 points!!! And they have been accepted to a diverse range of colleges with substantial scholarships. Most importantly, my students have enjoyed and grown during the process. Call today!
Congratulations to this year's Lilly Scholarship finalists from Monroe County!

And so it begins! Acceptance letters from IU-Bloomington are starting to arrive in mailboxes! One very important change for this year — in the past, if you received an automatic merit scholarship (called “Provost Scholarship” for in-state students), your scholarship award would come with this package. However, according to IUB website, this year, Provost Scholarship notifications will not be made until “mid-December through the first week of February”.

Need help coming up with ideas for and writing your college application essays? With my educational background in liberal arts and law, writing is one of my specialties! 85% of my current senior class have completed their IU application essays and almost half have completed their Common App personal statements! Most of the rest have at least started their first drafts. I have reviewed and worked with all of them to ensure that the final products are well-written with meaningful content. Contact me if your student is stuck or needs guidance/help!

I meant to finish my shout-outs to the Class of 2021 over the summer, but life got too busy in August! Here are some more Aspire students who are heading off to college ...

Moya Stringer BHSS '21 chose to attend Colby College, a top liberal arts college in the beautiful state of Maine! With her stellar grades and involvement in so many activities ranging from microbiology research to music to community service, Moya had many college options, but I know she will flourish at Colby!

Here are some benefits of going to big and small colleges. (Keep in mind, these are general and may not apply to every school.)

As you build and narrow your college list, it’s important to think about what size school you want to attend. Read more: http://spr.ly/6186yinx6.
