We are so proud to have Ezekiel and his family a part of the Lakeview family! His dad, Mr. Roth, is also a valued member of the Lakeview team as a Lakeview teacher! Go Lions!!🦁
Today’s Riley Children's Health Kid Captain is six-year-old Ezekiel Roth from Bloomington, Indiana.
At birth Ezekiel was diagnosed with Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) & a congenital heart defect. At 7 months of age, he had open heart surgery at Riley Hospital for Children, & his doctors were able to repair his heart. After several other surgeries to address different medical issues associated with Trisomy 21, Ezekiel, at age 3, was able to learn to eat by mouth so he no longer needed a g-tube.
His family is so grateful to the Riley team for all their care for Ezekiel through his procedures & their partnership in his journey toward health.
Now, Ezekiel is in kindergarten at Lakeview Elementary, learning to read & write along with his classmates, enjoying eating by mouth, & running, jumping, & playing like the healthy & resilient little boy he is.
Ezekiel looks forward to cheering on the Hoosiers as they take on Howard.
