The IU School of Education just finished up hosting a four-day VEX Robotics camp for local students. The camp introduced students to the fundamentals of robotics, engineering, and programming through the design, building, and coding of VEX IQ robots.

Despite working full-time as an assistant director of development at the IU School of Education and pursuing a Master of Public Affairs at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, Shayla George still finds time to make an impact beyond campus. A dedicated advocate and community leader, she serves on the City of Bloomington Commission on the Status of Women and as a board member for United Way of South Central Indiana.
And, in recognition of her exceptional leadership and service, George is one of this year’s 500 Festival Princesses in the upcoming Indianapolis 500.
