Is this report a reason to drink fewer boba teas? — San Francisco Chronicle How many boba drinks are too many? A recent report might have had you clutching your tapioca pearls. Greetings fellow Wamplerites and Fifth Grade Class of 1965-66:

We don't have to wait 3-1/2 years for a 45th HS reunion to plan another gathering. I just wrote to Becky Hicks Dickson last night about an idea. Next year is a milestone for many of us on two fronts: the odometer turns; AND, it will have been 50 years since we started 5th grade. There's something about zeros at the end of events that makes me want to celebrate. Maybe you, too? While we may or may not be able to do something again at the old school, I do have some strong ties to the WonderLab Museum, and we could do an evening rental.

I'll be tied up with traveling, work and the holidays until early January, but that doesn't mean we can't get the ball rolling if there's enough interest for something next summer or fall. What say you? If you like the idea, let Esther Millen Smail know. If you like the idea and are willing to help, PM Esther with your email address so we can put together a planning committee.

I'm sharing this post from Aliki Barnstone. It's a good question:

Dear Elm Heights friends - Do you remember whether we were told in school when President Kennedy was shot? Were we sent home? I read that schools were dismissed. He was shot at 12:29 and his death was announced at 1:33. I only remember heading home from school on 2nd, and hearing the kids calling out "The President's dead!" I don't remember anything about what happened inside school. I just remember the sounds, the voices, the leaves, my feet on the sidewalk, and then being at home with my parents, stunned, grieving, watching it all on TV. What happened at Elm Heights? I was in second grade and some of you were a little older. This is kind of driving me crazy. I'm watching all this footage on TV - and I remember it all. But not what happened with our teachers, the other kids, inside.
