Our PreK and Kindergarten kiddos were so excited about their first bus ride this year! They went to visit our friends at Brickyard Assisted Living to play Bingo and just have a sweet time together! We're so thankful that we get to partner with them and that our kids get to make friends with some of their residents!

Don’t know about you, but I would have LOVED doing my school work and reading while in a hammock! Home Learning days are perfect for allowing our students to work at their own pace while taking advantage of the freedom to be outside!

Today we’re highlighting some of our outdoor classrooms! We’re so thankful that we have the use of this amazing space for our students! What a blessing it is that they can be outside for so much of their learning opportunities!

Special thanks to all of our volunteers for the IU football game concessions today!! It was super fun working with all of you and GO HOOSIERS!!!

So far today’s activities have included planks (nice job beating everyone, including Mr Pinkney, Vivian!) a Peter Rabbit birthday party, baking and preparing freezer meals, and studying goat and chicken anatomy in the shady grove. It’s amazing what you can accomplish on a Friday morning at Cedars!

This year we’re studying Earth Sciences and we are thrilled to have been able to send our 1st and 2nd grade students to Blue Springs Caverns where they took a boat tour of America’s longest navigable underground river and then did some gem mining. The kids all came home with a bag of gems and an identification card to explore and learn more about what they found.

Today’s post is about learning and sharing our love of learning with siblings. We are always happy to receive pictures of our students engaging with each other on Home Learning Days. Yesterday our 7th and 8th grade students took time in the morning to watch a debate between Wes Huff and Billy Carson on the Enuma Elish and the Bible and then headed out,along with the 3rd-6th graders, for our Living Friday trip to Bean Blossom Bottom and Lower Cascades Park to spend the afternoon outside identifying plants!

Our PreK students did a great job listening to Mr Pinkney about how to care for our rabbits this year! We’re sure they’ll do a great job!

We love that our 3rd grade class took advantage of this beautiful weather in their outdoor classroom recently. It’s amazing the learning that can happen while enjoying God’s creation!
