Steele, International political theorist from the Department of Political Science at the University of Utah. The Academy Award nominated documentary, Fire at Sea, will be shown at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Sunday, Feb 19 at 8pm.
Directed by Gianfranco Rosi, the Italian-language film tells the story of 12-year-old Samuele, who lives in Lampedusa, a once peaceful Mediterranean island that has become a major entry point for African refugees.
The screening is part of The Ryder Film Series and funded in part by the IU Department of International Studies.
