Four Seasons Toastmasters Club of Bloomington, Illinois has a long history of helping members achieve their communication and leadership goals. We are proud that we achieved Select Disguished status in Toastmasters International's DCP (Distinguished Club Program) again this year. We are prouder that we always prioritize helping our members achieve their own personal goals above achieving club goals. We welcome guests and there's never heavy-handed pressure to join. An extensive vocabulary and a variety of speech techniques can be a great way to keep your presentation interesting and fresh but the simplest content, told in a straighforward way, is often the most powerful. A simple speech can be ENGAGING because the takeaway is concise. If your content confuses it won't convert.

Even though attendance was lighter than usual, we had a fantastic meeting! 🎉
Our theme for the evening was Game Show Night 🎮📺, and we learned some interesting trivia along the way. Did you know that the first game show was broadcast in 1938 and was called Spelling Bee? 🐝
Members enjoyed game show-themed Table Topics® questions that challenged their creativity and quick thinking. 🎤💡
We were also treated to an excellent speech from Patrick, who shared stories and lessons from his leadership experiences throughout his life. 👏🌟
To wrap up the evening, we handed out some big (but not real!) game show prizes 🏆😂 to our contestants—club members who earned recognition for:
🔹 The most filler words
🔹 The fewest filler words
🔹 The most uses of our Word of the Day: “platitude”
A fun and memorable evening filled with learning, laughter, and great speaking! We look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting on June 15. 😊
