Foundations in Science and Mathematics is a Summer Program for Middle and High School Students designed to help them prepare for science and math courses.

This two week summer program is designed to help students prepare for upcoming middle and high school science and mathematics courses. It will emphasize important introductory concepts and tools in order to provide a strong foundation for later learning. All students are welcome to attend, but keep in mind that most of these courses are designed for students who will attend high school in the fall.

Meet our Trigonometry instructor, Mihyun!

Trigonometry is an essential first step to learning calculus. This course will focus on foundational concepts, including triangle geometry and trigonometric functions.

Mihyun has a B.S. in Mathematics from Seoul Women’s University, a B.A. in International Studies from Seoul Women’s University, and a M.A. in Mathematics Education from Sogang University. Mihyun is now a doctoral student at IU studying mathematics education.

Meet our Standardized Test Review instructor, Selim!

Standardized Test Review is designed to help students succeed in the mathematics part of any standardized test required for college admissions. Students will develop problem-solving skills and quantitative thinking. The course will also focus on the best practices before and during a test.

Selim has a B.A. and M.S. in Mathematics from Yildiz Technical University, and is now a graduate student at IU studying mathematics education.

Meet our Intro Bio instructor, Pallavi!

Intro Bio is designed for students taking their first high school biology course in the fall. The focus is on developing an understanding of concepts rather than memorizing specific terms. Topics include cells, heredity, and ecology.

Pallavi has an M.S. in Biology from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, and is now a graduate student at IU studying chromosome biology.
