To promote the growth and improvement of Scottish musical arts in South-Central Indiana through education, performance, and competition.
The Bloomington Pipers’ Society is a membership organization with regular public meetings established with the aim to grow the number of bagpipers and drummers in the Bloomington area. Primarily focused on the Scottish musical arts, the Society also celebrates bagpipes from all musical traditions, including the Galicia Gaita Gallega, and the Irish Uilleann pipes. The Society hosts monthly meetings
We've just received a request for a piper to play a funeral this Thursday in Bedford. Funeral starts at 2pm and the family anticipates having a piper play graveside around 2:45 or 3:00. Please comment below if interested.
Update on the weather:
There is a chance of some mild storms on either side of our scheduled time, but at this point we're still planning on meeting today!

Our friends (including some of our members) at Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums participated in the city of Bloomington's standing Fourth of July parade this past weekend!
In Indiana and looking to hop into pipe band? The Fountain Trust Pipe Band is starting back up post-COVID, and would be happy to have you! Practices start this coming Thursday!

Last weekend, the Smoky Mountain Highland Games held one of the first pipe band competitions in North America since COVID-19 started in March 2020. Here's North Texas Caledonian Pipes and Drums (NTCPD) taking first place in the Grade 4 MSR event!

We had a great Bagpipes in the Park session with beautiful weather yesterday! One of our own even got her first run on the big pipes with a pipe ensemble.

Hard to believe it'll be two years of no North American Pipe Band Championships before we get another one...
