We are BHENHA, a research project undertaken by the Armijos Lab in the IU School of Public Health evaluating the household health status of women (preferably mothers with a child between 7-18 years of age) of mid-low income households in Bloomington, IN and its association with home air quality.
The program has the following objectives:
- Determination of Body Mass Index (height and weight)
- Measurement of sugar and lipids (fat) in the blood
- Evaluation of blood pressure and flexibility of the arteries
- Evaluation of lung function and inflammation
- Determination of the presence of lead in the blood
- Determination of the presence of air pollutants inside the home
A $20 incentive ($15 if no children) will be offered per household.
