"Why Inclusive Hiring Is Good for Everyone" with Stone Belt and Noe Limits | S10E16 06/02/2026

Inclusion and education is an area where I have dedicated most of my adult life. These three encapsulate so much of what is good in Bloomington - doing their utmost to ensure that we stay community-focused. I appreciate the shout-out, but what I truly appreciate is the work being done that ensures that all people are seen and valued for their gifts and talents.

Good people doing good things - this here is the heart of B-Town.

Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) is a rare but potentially serious allergic condition linked to bites from the Lone Star tick.

AGS symptoms occur after eating red meat or exposure to other products made from animals.

We’re incredibly grateful for the amazing collaboration with Autumn and Annika from Tattoo KAIJU 🙌

Thanks to their talent and generosity, CPR BTown now has beautifully tattooed female CPR manikins that better reflect the real people in our community. Representation matters—even in emergency training—and these manikins help create a more realistic, inclusive learning experience for everyone.

This project is a perfect example of what can happen when local artists and community organizations come together with a shared purpose ❤️

Thank you, Autumn and Annika, for using your artistry to help us make CPR education more relatable, accessible, and impactful.

If you're looking to get some work done, we highly recommend Tattoo KAIJU!

Today, we want to salute one of our core community partners: CPR BTown!

CPR BTown offers American Heart Association CPR/First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification classes for businesses, nonprofits, faith organizations, and community members throughout the Bloomington area.

With a focus on hands-on learning and real-world scenarios, CPR BTown equips people to act decisively in emergencies.

Founder & Lead Instructor Adam Hamel shares more about the lifesaving work at CPRBtown:

“I’m grateful to share that the work with CPR BTown continues to grow in meaningful ways,” says Adam.

“In 2025–2026, thanks to the Sophia Travis Grant from the Monroe County Council, I trained 250+ staff and volunteers from 26 nonprofit agencies in CPR and lifesaving skills, helping reach people who serve some of our most vulnerable neighbors.”

“I’ve also been collaborating with the Monroe County Health Department to increase awareness of their 'Stop the Bleed' courses, expanding access to critical emergency skills.”

“Last fall, I had the privilege of teaching Basic Life Support to 85 incoming IU nursing students. This hands-on, American Heart Association–certified course focuses on effective CPR, airway management, adult, child, and infant resuscitation, and team-based response. These skills require practice, collaboration, and confidence.”

“While I’ve taught CPR and BLS for over 15 years, I officially opened CPR BTown just over a year ago. For the past 17 years, much of my work has been rooted in the nonprofit world, particularly supporting Direct Support Professionals at Stone Belt.”

“Teaching and helping others have always been central to my work. As a professional and a parent of a child with significant disabilities, this work is deeply personal and profoundly rewarding. Thank you to the organizations, partners, and learners who make this possible. 💙” #iubnurse 03/27/2026
