Omg, where did the books go?!? We’re excited to get some new carpet on the first floor this summer, and the project is just taking off! It should wrap by the end of June, but in the meantime, please pardon our dust and noise.

Congratulations once again to the class of 2026! We have loved watching you grow over the past few years, and we know your futures are very, very bright!

We are so excited to celebrate the many law library student workers graduating this weekend, with degrees in law, library science, and curatorship! Thank you for years of service to the law library. We are so proud of you and look forward to seeing all the future has in store!

Congratulations to Amy Cheek, Government Documents Cataloger, for 30 years of service to IU and the Jerome Hall Law Library, and a 2026 recipient of the Maurer School of Law’s Staff Merit Award! Amy, we thank you so much for your years of dedication, impeccable work, and unfailing camaraderie.

As you start thinking about Fall course registration, consider the many Advanced Legal Research opportunities from the law librarians! We have a 2-credit ALR course that expands on the research you learned in LRW and introduces additional fundamental research topics, like legislative history and regulatory research. In the Fall we’ll have an online section of this course taught by Prof. Maggie Kiel-Morse and an in-person section taught by Prof. Morgan Kelly. (Or if you want to get two credits out of the way this summer, take ALR online with Prof. Ashley Ahlbrand.)

If you want a deeper dive into legislative and regulatory research, consider Prof. Jennifer Morgan’s 1 credit online ALR course and legislative and regulatory research. Two subject areas that almost any attorney can benefit from knowing are tax and business research concepts. If you’re interested to learn more about those niche areas of research, consider Prof. Ashley Ahlbrand’s 1 credit online ALR course on tax and business research.
