Dr. Bob Spear has devoted his life and work to improving the critical care of children. After graduating from IWU in 1977, Bob held numerous pediatric care positions in hospitals across the country, including Johns Hopkins Hospital, and conducted groundbreaking studies on the use of various anesthesia in specific childhood procedures.

Graduating in 1962, Alice (Schrader) Gruber was one of the first students to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University School of Nursing. In her numerous nursing roles since graduation, Alice has never forgotten what it means to be a Titan. "I felt with each new position, I could always reflect back to my original studies at IWU."

This year's Alumni Award winners are trailblazers in their fields, including our 2026 Robert M. Montgomery Outstanding Young Alumni Award Winner, Keith Carter '17. As a registered nurse and first-generation college student, Keith has spent his career addressing the mental health disparities of underserved populations, earning national recognition and the SAMHSA Minority Fellowship.

Our International Alumni Network (IAN) was created to recognize and celebrate the diversity of the IWU community, spanning different regions, countries, and cultures. Alumni like IAN Chair Stella Wang ‘17 are passionate about IWU and helping her fellow Titans flourish.

Congratulations to IWU's chapter of Psi Chi, an international honor society for psychology, for being selected as a model chapter for 2025-26! One of 45 chapters selected from over 1,150 in the nation, IWU's Psi Chi chapter is recognized for their excellence, hard work, and engaging opportunities under the 2025-26 leadership of Elizabeth Dale ’27, Cadence Crull ’27, Alexis Shackelford ’27, and Grace Liszkiewicz ’26.

The newest installation in the Wakeley Gallery at IWU is a group exhibition titled, "Wish You Were Here: Postcards from the School of Art & Design Alumni." Bringing together artwork of various media, style, and expression, this exhibition displays the talent of alumni spanning the classes of 1953-2017! Join us for a special reception on Oct. 3 during Homecoming as we celebrate the history and talent of our art and design alumni.
