A friend shared this idea and wanted to share with the church. Not my idea but I think it's a good one. Christian's need to unite:

Hey guys , been thinking about this virus, social distancing, quarantines and the upcoming Easter season. What if we as Christians were to take red ribbons and Pin or tape to our door posts , as a symbol of the blood that was placed over the doors of the children of Israels homes at Passover , when God freed them from Egyptian bo***ge, just to show this world and satan that our God is still able to deliver His people from any and everything that tries to put us in bo***ge. We are His children, we are His favorites, we are His property, and He loves us as no one else can. Let us show the world that we believe His word, and we are His.

This is to let the world know that we believe the word of God, Who else will place this on their page ? Let’s get the word out! God is still in control, He is our ONLY hope. Cover those door post and stand on His promise of protection for His people.
Passover starts April 8th -16th. Let’s get the word out!

We will be doing this for sure!!
Well done turning our hearts to Christ in a time when we need Him more than ever.
Guests using Pantry 279 are increasing. They had 121 families (459 individuals) on Wednesday and estimate that a third of them were new. Check their website (https://pantry279.org/). They are in need of anything and everything at this point. Since we don't have an organized way to deliver donations, go to their website and donate money; there is a "Donate" button on the home page. For a way you know is secure, they take donations from PayPal. Enter their email address to donate to them ([email protected]). Log in, click on "My Account" in the upper right corner. On the next page click the circle that says "Send" and has an icon of dollar bills. You can enter an amount and take it from there. It's just one way to help local folks from home!
Jeff Arnold is over where things are heating up in the mid east. Please keep him and all our service people in your prayers.
Could you tell me about Trunk or Treat this year, please?
Merry Christmas to all; It is truly a joyous birth. For those who attended service this morning (12/25); our brother in Christ, from Trinity Lutheran, Dave Grimm is missing a brown jacket, from the coat rack. Dave is an estimated 6'3" (+) and it would be tough for most of us to fit in his coat. Please let the church office know if you grabbed the wrong coat. Dave is chilly, but thankful.
Financial Peace starts tomorrow night @ 6pm. I have one extra family kit available and if interested, contact me; Bill Pfrommer [email protected] 812-360-5414. It is not too late.
Less than 30 days to Financial Peace class. Begins September 10th. It is not too late. Email Bill Pfrommer at [email protected], or church office. DaveRamsey.com also has links to sign up. We would love to have you.
Please do not forget Generosity Feeds, on Saturday, April 7th. This is a great family project and takes minimal time. (it goes fast) There are spots open for the NOON and 2PM shifts. Here is the link to sign up. Fill out all the boxes and submit. You will then receive a confirmation email, detailing your shift. www.hoosiersagainsthunger.org

Whenever one violates the natural moral order established by God, one sins and offends God. Same-sex marriage does just this. Accordingly, anyone who professes to love God must be opposed to it.

It is regretful that St. John’s Lutheran Church chooses over God’s Word instead political correctness in order to advance same-sex marriage.

One could argue that any pastor who subscribes to same-sex marriage is a sinner; therefore has no right to preach. After all, if that pastor can agree to same-sex marriage which is against God’s Word, then other parts of the Bible can equally be changed to satisfy political correctness.

Even the word “marry” is a Christian term which should be treated reverently as such. See e.g., Institute of Marriage Research & Studies (www.IOMRAS.info), their Etymology page, first two articles.

“Calling something a marriage does not make it a marriage.” Id. Nor does wearing the label of “Pastor” make someone right in God’s eyes.

Jesus miraculously fed the hungry crowd of thousands by multiplying five loaves of bread and two fish. This miracle fed the people for a few hours but Jesus, the Bread of Life, desires to satisfy spiritual hunger forever. We who have been blessed to feed on the Bread of Life are encouraged to invite hungry sinners to believe in Jesus, who is and always will be the true Bread of Life.

John the Baptist helped to prepare the way for the Lord by calling sinners to repentance. He did that work with great power and success and was faithful to God and his mission unto death. We are also called to be faithful witnesses about Jesus unto death, so that many sinners will be saved and also receive the crown of life.

Every year farmers get to see a great miracle of God in the growth of their crop. The farmers may plant the seed, but God does the rest. The same is true for us as God’s witnesses in the world. We are called upon to share the Word of God and to scatter the seed. We can leave the miracle of growth to the Holy Spirit, who gives us the promise that His Word will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent (Is. 55:11).
