First everyone wanted to know why Silat is so slappy.

Now another question:

Why is Silat mostly LOW?

Squat. Turn. Sit. Transition. Get back up.

Fighting or not, your body still needs mobility, strength, balance, and coordination to do all of that.

Maybe martial arts have something to teach us about simply moving well.

Fantastic training framework!

Why is so…slappy?

Because sound and touch are feedback.

Tapping the body helps us find rhythm, coordinate our hands with our movement, and develop better body awareness.

And there’s also the martial aspect as well…

What if your body could become the bow?

Playing with this idea today: using a band to explore the same qualities we see in stringing a bow. Extension through the shoulders, back, and hips, with the whole body working together. And a little . why not? 😊

After movie, reminded of this analogy.

A bow is transformed when the string is drawn. As the string is pulled, the bow doesn’t fight the load. It accepts it and its structure organizes. Energy is quietly stored. When the string is released, the bow simply returns to its natural shape.
The arrow is only the expression of energy that was prepared long before the release.

The human body can work in the same fashion.

Power comes from organizing the body.
The goal is to organize your structure.
Create one continuous chain. When the strcture is connected, it stores potential energy throughout the entire system.
Then, at the right moment, simply let it go.

Like the arrow leaving the bow.

Power comes not from how hard you contract, but from how well you organize your body before you release it.
