Lee’s Inaugural Summer Camp is underway. Thanks to Crystal and Russell for running this and making it happen. Thanks to all participating in the fun.

Congratulations and welcome our newly minted Taekwondo Master Dennis Godsey. Master Godsey has been at Lee’s before it was officially Lee’s starting back in the early 80s while a student at IU and started his martial arts journey even before that as a Judo student in the 70s in Indy. After earning his degree, life took him other places and after retirement found him back at Lee’s. Congrats again sir.

Little Tigers Test will be on Sat, 13 June at 0900am – Tigers - Please arrive at 845am).

Main tests will be at 10am and run until about 1pm.

If you are on the test list and cannot make the main test on Saturday Main Test, please let us know if you will be doing the Kup makeup test on Monday the 15th at 510pm with GM Lewis.

NOTE: There will NO Lee’s classes on Friday, 12 June or Saturday, 13 June Test Day.

The main testing should be completed by 1pm. Plan ahead and bring water.

Those test for 1st dan and above, bring your two passport size pictures.

Our next promotion test will be Saturday, 13 June at 10am, so please arrive 15 minutes early to be prepared for the 10am start.

The week of the test, please fill out and sign your test forms and pay your test fees. As usual, make sure your tuition is also current to be fully qualified to test.

Lee's Martial Arts will be hosting a four part self-defense course in July. The primary audience of this class is the LGBTQIA+ community. If you would like to participate but do not identify as LGBTQIA+, especially if you are a woman or teen, please feel free to sign up. Priority will be given to members of the community but if there is room, you will be welcome to join. We will let those on the waitlist know if there is space in mid-June.

The classes will be Thursdays, July 2, 9, 16, and 23, 7-9pm. The class will include the following:

Week 1: Pre-contact self-protection: awareness, body language, threat cues, de-escalation, distance

Week 2: Striking and standing grappling fundamentals

Week 3: Grappling fundamentals, standing and on the ground

Week 4: Integration of concepts, scenarios, multiple attackers, post-engagement concerns

This class will be capped at 16 participants and is for students 15 years of age or older. Any who sign up beyond the cap will be put on a list for early notification for cancellations or the next class (likely late fall).

The price of the course will be $80. However, no one will be excluded for inability to pay. When you sign up, you will be asked to indicate the level of payment you are comfortable with, down to $0. Please do not let cost be a barrier! Current Lee's members and returning self-defense students will be $40. Any non-member who pays full price and chooses to sign up at Lee's at the end of the course can do so for half price for the first month ($45).
