The Global Center had a fantastic weekend of outreach!
We led an activity at the Lotus Blossoms World Bazaar at Fairview Elementary - connecting with 850+ fourth graders on Friday and local families on Saturday as we explored different maps and worldviews, learned about new countries by placing flags and animals on the map, and sparked curiosity about global cultures.
We also had the pleasure of co-sponsoring a book talk featuring Dr. Sven Beckert from Harvard University, who discussed his newly published book "Capitalism,A Global History," alongside an engaging panel at IU's Indiana Memorial Union.
Thank you to our partners at Lotus Education & Arts Foundation and IU's American Studies Department, IU Geography, and the Department of International Studies at Indiana University.
