Love is in the air! Our preschool classrooms are preparing for Valentines Day by completing process art projects and making potions in the sensory table. Process art is crucial because it emphasizes the experience of creation over the final product, fostering authentic creativity, self-expression, and cognitive growth in children.

Our PK 1 class is kicking off Valentines Day by decorating their own bags so they can pass out Valentines to each other! The students were given a variety of supplies to use including markers, stickers and dot markers to decorate their bags. Allowing the students to create process art fosters authentic creativity, self-expression, and cognitive growth in children.

Our Preschool classrooms practice 𝗛𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆, which is a systematic 10–12 minute daily foundational skills curriculum focused on building phonemic awareness for Pre-K through 3rd grade. It uses oral, auditory, and kinesthetic techniques (hand motions) to help students isolate, blend, segment, and substitute sounds. The program, which covers rhyming, syllables, and phonemes, is designed to be used alongside existing literacy programs to improve decoding and reading skills in preparation for kindergarten.

Students at our Pepper Ridge After School Program have been working hard on making different beaded creations! Students use pony beads and string to create lizards, snakes, penguins, flowers and more!
