The Cyberinfrastructure for Network Science Center (CNS) at Indiana University is excited to host the Human Reference Atlas (HRA) & Whole Person Physiome (WPP) Hackathon on August 3–5, 2026, at the IU Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering.

Researchers, software engineers, bioinformaticians, and students from Indiana University and partner institutions—including Stanford University, the University of Pennsylvania, Brigham and Women's Hospital, UConn Health, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia—will collaborate to advance biomedical data integration, computational methods, and software.

The HRA is creating a 3D reference atlas of the healthy human body, while the WPP project is building a multi-scale model of human physiology to support AI-ready biomedical research.

🎉 Congrats to Katy Borner and her collaborators on winning Phase 1 of the NIH's $1 million Data Sharing Index (S-Index) Challenge! 🏆
The team received a $15,000 award and has advanced to Phase 2, where they'll compete for the grand prize by continuing their work to develop a new metric that recognizes excellence in research data sharing. 📊

This incredible project grew out of Andi's 2024–2025 NIH HuBMAP JumpStart Fellowship, which brought together six outstanding early-stage investigators with a shared vision: harmonizing and integrating HuBMAP, SenNet, and CIFAR data within the Human Reference Atlas and making it explorable in virtual reality. 🥽

Andi, what an amazing milestone and a testament to years of perseverance, collaboration, and groundbreaking research! 🌍✨ The future is incredibly bright, and we can't wait to see all the amazing discoveries and innovations still to come.
