National Grandparents Day is September 13!

Celebrate the special bond between generations with My Grandpa, My Tree, and Me by Roxanne Troup. This heartwarming story beautifully weaves together family, agriculture, and the lasting connections we share with both our loved ones and the land. It's no surprise that the book was named the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture's 2024 Book of the Year!

To extend the learning, pair the story with our Pecan Tree Ag Mag and Reading Rings lesson plan. Students will discover how to "read" tree rings to determine a tree's age and uncover clues about significant events that occurred throughout its lifetime.

Whether you're sharing a favorite book, planting a tree, or simply spending time together, it's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the grandparents who help our roots grow strong.

This Week's Project Grant Highlight: "Exploring Life Cycles in Agriculture"

Montmorency School used Project Grant funds to enhance kindergarten students' understanding of plant and animal life cycles through learning materials and interactive read-alouds. Students explored how agriculture relies on these life cycles, building vocabulary and making meaningful connections between science concepts and the food systems they encounter in everyday life.
