Let's continue the celebration of our soon-to-be Sounds of South graduates by honoring Marcella Rose Miles!

Marcella is a four-year member of Sounds of South. She performed as Snow Child/ dancer (Carousel ‘21), chorus member/dance captain (Oklahoma ‘22), chorus member/dance captain (Les Misérables ‘23), Silly Girl/choreographer (Beauty and the Beast ‘24), Meg Giry/choreographer (The Phantom of the Opera ‘25).

Prior to Sounds of South, Marcella sang with the IU Children’s Choir, the IMEA Elementary and Middle School Honor Choirs, and as a student at St. Charles School. Highlights include performing as Gracie Shinn in the IU Opera Theater’s production of The Music Man (’17) and in the children’s chorus for Bernstein’s Mass (’19). In addition, Marcella has been a member of the IU Jacobs Academy Ballet Program since the age of three, performing in 10 full length ballets including two world premieres. Her winter and summer intensive ballet training includes the IU Jacobs Ballet Department, Interlochen Summer Music Camp (2024 Joseph E. Maddy Summer Artist Award recipient for Classical Ballet), Ballet Chicago, and the American Ballet Theater.

She is a 4.0+ honor roll student, AP Scholar, member of the National Honor Society, 2025 Indiana Chapter NSAL Award Recipient for Classical Ballet, LOTS Senior, Riley Dance Marathon Executive, alum and parishioner of St. Charles, and member of the Lake Monroe Sailing Association.

Marcella will be attending Indiana University (Hutton Honors College and Jacobs School of Music) to pursue a B.S.O.F. (Bachelor of Science in Vocal Performance with an Outside Field in Ballet and Kinesiology.) She is the recipient of the Indiana Excellence, Indiana Premier Young Talent, IU Hutton Honors College, James R. Eberly Memorial, and the JPMorgan Chase Bank Scholarships.

Tomorrow is the last day of high school for our Sounds of South graduates! Continuing the celebration, let’s honor Audrey Beverton!

Audrey is a two-year member of Sounds of South, having transferred to BHSS her junior year. She performed in the ensemble of Beauty and the Beast (‘24), and as Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera (‘25). She also performed the role of Vivienne Kensington in Theatre South’s production of Legally Blonde (‘25), and Betty Rizzo in their production of Grease (‘26). Her favorite memory from Sounds of South was going to Disney World and performing there. She especially loved the quality time she got to spend with everyone.

Audrey is a member of National Honor Society and is a LOTS Senior. She has enjoyed playing the guitar and other instruments throughout her life, and spent nine years in show choir with Bloomington BEAT. After graduation, she plans to pursue a degree in Choral/General Music Education at Butler University.

I’ve learned so many valuable skills during my time in Sounds of South and have loved every moment of singing with this incredibly talented group. I’m truly grateful to have been a part of it, and I will forever cherish the memories we’ve made together.”

Continuing the celebration of our Sounds of South senior class, let’s honor Hayden Miller!

Hayden is a four-year member of Sounds of South. He performed in the ensemble of Oklahoma! (‘22), as Marius Pontmercy in Les Misérables (‘23), as The Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (‘24), and as Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera (‘25). His favorite memories with Sounds of South include being able to go to Walt Disney World twice and winning the ISSMA State Mixed Choir competition as a freshman. Hayden is a 4.0+ honor roll student and a member of National Honor Society. He is also a performer for Theatre South, having appeared as Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde: The Musical (‘25) and as Danny Zuko in Grease (‘26). Additionally, he is a member of the Bloomington Fencing Club where he enjoys épée fencing. After graduation, Hayden plans to attend the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and pursue a degree in vocal performance.

“I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to be in Sounds of South. I have enjoyed connecting with everyone in the group through singing, hard work, and eating lunch together. I would like to give a huge thanks to Ms. Witten for supporting me and for helping me find my confidence and my voice. I would also like to thank Ethan, Ken, Emma, and Keaton for their amazing work and effort that they continue to put into the group. I’m so grateful for the support of my family and friends, and would like to thank Kylie, Gio, and my parents for always being there for me and following my journey. Sounds of South has shaped my character for the better and I could not be happier with this group!”

As we approach graduation day for the BHSS Class of 2026, we will be highlighting our Sounds of South Seniors!

Let’s start by honoring Connor Couch!

Connor Couch is a two-year member of Sounds of South and performed in the ensemble in Beauty and the Beast (‘24) and as Monsieur André in The Phantom of the Opera (‘25). Connor is a four-year member of the BHSS tennis and baseball teams, a two-year officer for Dance Marathon, and a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation, Connor will attend Columbia University, where he plans to study engineering and play baseball for the Columbia Lions!

Congratulations to our talented Sounds of South, recipients of multiple awards while competing at the WorldStrides Nashville Heritage Festival in Nashville, Tennessee (April 16-19). We are so proud of the amazing effort and dedication of these artists! Bravi!
