Sounds of South

Comments

Would love to hear a statement from SOS during these times!

How is Sounds of South taking a stand in the Black Lives Matter movement?

Can any fundraising be done at this moment by members to donate to local and/or national Black owned businesses?

Can we support local Black businesses in Bloomington by offering free advertising in that stacked program of advertisements every year?

Are Bloomington High School South and Sounds of South doing more than just being passive?

If I learned anything in that choir it was that I have a voice, I should use it!

BLACK LIVES MATTER.
Good Golly Mr Richard - we’ll keep our blue light on for you.
In the spring/summer, SOS alum Holly Barnhart had the privilege of joining the a capella groups at Ball State University in recording an album named “Debut.” It has now been released on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music.

Here is the song by Holly’s group, Sedoctave, on that album. The song is titled “Bottom of the River.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Es6lfFM_Io

You can specifically hear Holly’s voice at time spot 0:14 (she is the first single voice to sing “Hold My Hand”) and again as the rapper at time spot 1:38 (she also wrote the rap).

Congratulations, Holly!
We all say a heartfelt "break-a-leg" to Sounds of South alum, Matthew Weidenbener, who opens in A Chorus Line with Porchlight in Chicago this weekend! (Hint: Matt appears at 1:15 in this video! :)
SoS alum Holly Barnhart, and her a capella group Sedoctave from Ball State University, will perform on Broadway!

They were crowned the winner of the International Championship of Collegiate A Ca****la (ICCA) Midwest Semifinals competition in St. Louis. Next, they will compete in the ICCA Finals at the PlayStation Theater on Broadway in NYC on April 27. (This is the competition featured in the Pitch Perfect movies.)

Good luck to SOS alum, Holly Barnhart, and Sedoctave (the Ball State a capella group of which she's a member), who will be competing tomorrow (March 10) in the 2018 International Championship of Collegiate A Ca****la (ICCA) Midwest Semifinal being held at Washington University in St. Louis.

The top placing group at this event will advance to the 2018 ICCA Finals at The Beacon Theatre in New York City in April.
Congratulations to SoS alum Holly Barnhart and her a Capella group Sedoctave, who won 1st place at the ICCA Midwest Quarterfinals competition on January 27. They move on to the Semifinals at 7 PM on March 10 at Washington University in St Louis.
A mix of Hank & Will's senior performance with their video doing the same song as 7th grader at the 2012 SOS Finale.
