IU Air Force ROTC Det 215

⭐SENIOR SPOTLIGHT⭐

Our final Senior Spotlight is on Cadet Mona Strodtman! Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, Mona double majors in International Studies and Chinese at IU. After the end of this school year, she will spend a fifth year studying abroad in Taiwan to finish her Chinese degree!

Mona's favorite memories from IU have been flying around Bloomington in a helicopter and watching football games with her friends from the endzones!

Outside of ROTC she loves reading, playing videogames, hiking, and doing art.

⭐️SENIOR SPOTLIGHT⭐️

Today's spotlight is on Cadet Carter Schmucker! Carter is from Goshen, Indiana and studies informatics at IU. After commissioning, he will go to Aviano Air Base in Italy to start as a Contracting Officer! 

Carter's favorite memories from IU have been watching the Hoosiers win the national championship and taking his oath of enlistment at Assembly Hall last year. 

Outside of ROTC he loves spending time with his friends and family, watching movies and college sports, playing video games, and watching fireworks on the 4th of July!

Recently, our 200s and some of our 100s had the opportunity to participate in OVD, a mock field training exercise that pushed them outside of their comfort zones!

From TCCC, MEDEVAC 9-lines to SALUTE reports, land navigation, radio calls and marching as a squadron, they got valuable practical experience with everything they've been introduced to in ROTC.

Our cadets also got the chance to meet other detachments, build connections, and see different ways of doing things. OVD gave our 200s a glimpse of what field training might look like!

Today's spotlight is on Cadet Brandon Roll! Brandon is from Greenwood, Indiana and studies informatics at IU. After commissioning, he will go to Vandenberg Space Force Base to train as a Nuclear and Missile Operations Officer!

Brandon's favorite memory from IU was watching football games from the endzone with his friends.

Outside of ROTC he loves camping, working out, and playing videogames with friends!

Since the end of the semester is drawing near, we wanted to remind everyone who exactly is in charge of the 215th Cadet Wing! Let's meet all the POC who have been working hard this semester!

Today's spotlight is on Cadet Tyana Rogers! Tyana is from Indianapolis, Indiana. She is majoring in General Studies and minors in Informatics at IU Indy. After commissioning, she will go to Keesler Air Force Base to train as a 17x Cyberspace Operations Officer. 

Tyana's favorite memory from IU Indy was reciting her Oath of Enlistment during halftime at an IU basketball game in assembly hall. 

Outside of  ROTC, she loves traveling, going to concerts, running, and binge watching TV shows!

Today's spotlight is on Cadet Daniel Poglitsh! Daniel is currently studying Economics and Political Science at IU! After graduation, he will head to Vandenberg SFB, CA to train as a Nuclear and Missile Operations Officer!

Daniel's favorite memory from IU is watching the win the football national championship!

Outside of ROTC, he loves hanging out with friends, biking, reading, and watching Dolphins football games!

This spotlight is on Cadet Selena Piñon! Selena studies criminal justice at IU. After graduation, she will move to Kirtland AFB, New Mexico to begin as a Logistics Readiness Officer!

Selena's favorite memory from IU is going to football games with her friends.

Outside of ROTC, she loves playing with her dog, working out, running, painting, and boardgames!

Our first paintball LLAB of the year! Cadets used their expeditionary skills during some outdoor GLPs!
