⚽ LIONS WIN! 🦁

LCA Soccer remains undefeated in conference play after tonight’s win!

We’re grateful for the wins—but we’re even more grateful for who these young men are becoming.

As an IHSAA member school, we’re excited to compete at a high level. But the scoreboard will never be the ultimate measure of a successful program. We want to develop young men who love Jesus, love one another, compete with joy, and are becoming the kind of men who will lead and serve others well long after their last game in an LCA uniform.

Keep going, Lions! 🦁⚽

🦁 SAVE THE DATE: JOG-A-THON 2026!

📅 September 25th

It’s LCA’s biggest annual fundraiser — but Jog-A-Thon has become about so much more than raising money.

It’s Spirit Week. 🎉
It’s school traditions. 🦁
It’s students and teachers having a whole lot of fun together. 😂
It’s our Timothy to Paul relationships growing across grade levels. 🤝
It’s families, students, staff, and friends coming together around a school we love. ❤️

And yes… there may even be a Wheel of Doom involved this year. 😬🎡

Jog-A-Thon is one of our favorite LCA traditions because it captures so much of what makes this community special.

Save the date for September 25. It’s going to be the BEST!

Engineering in action! 🐜🛠️

This week, our second-grade classes came together with Mrs. Jones to learn about the engineering design process through a challenge called BUGGED!

Students imagined, planned, designed, and collaborated to solve a very real problem: How can we keep bugs off our food during a picnic? 🧺🐞

We love seeing our Lions think creatively, work together, and turn their ideas into solutions. This is hands-on learning at its best! 🦁

What. A. Day. 🦁

Our middle and high school students spent today at Camp Illiana for our annual MS/HS Retreat—competing, laughing, worshiping, building relationships, and making some incredible memories together.

More importantly, we spent time talking about what it means to be Loved by the Father—the first of our LIONS Identity Statements. Our hope is that our students leave LCA knowing deeply who they are and whose they are.

Great friendships. Great memories. Jesus at the center.

We love these kids. 💙💛

Day 2 and our fourth graders are already up, thinking, talking, and doing math together!

Students worked in random groups on vertical surfaces, incorporating elements of Peter Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms. Instead of simply watching a teacher solve problems, students are collaborating, testing ideas, explaining their thinking, learning from one another—and having some fun along the way.

We love seeing classrooms where students aren’t just learning math—they’re learning to think. 🦁💙💛

🎉 Welcome to the LCA Family, Henderson Family! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome the Henderson family to Lighthouse Christian Academy!

Cameron and Drew Henderson moved to Bloomington a little over a year ago and have been enjoying getting to know the community. They attend North Central Church of Christ and are excited to join the Lighthouse family.

Cameron is a Project Manager with SAIC, supporting work at Crane Naval Base. Drew stays home with their children while also teaching aquatic fitness at the Southeast YMCA.

Their daughter, Eleanor (4), will be a Lion cub this year! She loves singing, playing pretend, conducting science experiments, and is an excellent swimmer who can’t wait to make new friends.

Barron (1) enjoys following his big sister into just about everything she does. He loves playing with the family dogs and watching the rodeo.

As a family, the Hendersons enjoy traveling—especially to Texas and New Orleans—and love opening their home to family and friends for big Sunday dinners.

The Henderson family shared that they are looking forward to building relationships with like-minded families who are raising their children with biblical conviction. They are excited to see their children grow not only academically but also in their walk with Christ.

Between preparing for the return of students, welcoming new families, answering questions, and keeping everything running behind the scenes, our office ladies took a little mid-week break to have some fun and paint some pottery together.

Their work often goes unnoticed, but it makes a tremendous difference every single day. Thank you for serving our students, families, and staff with joy and excellence.

Help us give these three incredible ladies (Mrs. Spurlock, Mrs. Sellers, and Mrs. Gilbert) a well-deserved shoutout in the comments! 🦁💙

🎉 Welcome to the LCA Family, Fife Family! 🎉

We're excited to welcome the Fife family to Lighthouse Christian Academy!

Luke and Emily Fife both grew up in Henderson, Kentucky, and moved to Bloomington in 2022. They have been married for 15 years and are faithful members of Emmanuel Church, where they worship and serve together as a family.

Luke is a surgeon with IU Health, caring for patients throughout our community. Emily is a professional harpist who performs at weddings, concerts, and special events across the region, and she also serves part-time on staff at Emmanuel Church.

God has blessed them with three wonderful children:

🏐 Mary Emma (12) enjoys volleyball and tennis and is known for being funny, kind-hearted, responsible, and a great friend.

🩰 Lucy (9) loves dancing, sewing, and her cats. She has a joyful spirit, a creative mind, and a compassionate heart.

🥋 Pearson (7) is always on the move! He enjoys martial arts, basketball, baseball, and just about any sport he can play. He also loves technology, video games, and anything involving screens.

The Fife family shared that they appreciate Lighthouse's commitment to academic excellence while intentionally pointing students to Christ in every area of life, and we're grateful they have chosen to become part of our community.
