Bruce Springsteen Released Born to Run
50 years ago today, Bruce Springsteen released Born to Run, the album that transformed him from a critically acclaimed songwriter into a rock ‘n’ roll legend. With its cinematic scope, wall-of-sound production, and desperate, romantic imagery, the album captured the spirit of escape and ambition like no one else could.
The title track became an anthem, while songs like “Thunder Road” and “Jungleland” cemented The Boss’s storytelling brilliance. Backed by the E Street Band in full force, Born to Run was the result of 14 months of painstaking work — and it paid off. The album broke Springsteen into the mainstream and landed him on the cover of Time and Newsweek in the same week.
Decades later, it remains one of the greatest rock albums ever made — a towering, heart-pounding ode to chasing dreams down American highways.
🏃♂️💥 “Tramps like us, baby we were born to run.”

Bon Jovi released their legendary third studio album: Slippery When Wet 💿
Packed with fist-pumping anthems and unforgettable hooks, this album catapulted the band to global superstardom. Featuring iconic tracks like:
🔥 You Give Love a Bad Name
🔥 Livin’ on a Prayer
🔥 Wanted Dead or Alive
Slippery When Wet dominated the charts, spending 8 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and selling over 28 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling rock albums of all time.
💬 What’s your favorite track from this classic album?
Mama Thornton’s powerful voice shattered expectations. Here’s how.
Before Elvis, there was Big Mama Thornton — and she owned it.
On this day in 1952, the blues powerhouse recorded “Hound Dog,” written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Her raw, soulful version topped the R&B charts for 7 weeks, selling over 2 million copies — a bold, bluesy anthem that shook the foundations of rock & roll.
🔥 Without her, there is no “Hound Dog” legacy.
