MERRY CHRISTMAS!

As teachers walk into the building, what do they see, hear, feel, and smell? Do they feel welcomed? Do they feel connected? Do they feel heard?

This is such an encouraging scripture that we can lean on and often do apply it to ourselves for encouragement and rightfully so. However, this was actually encouragement from Paul to the Philippians. Imagine this prayer for friends, family, and your enemies. How would that look? How would that feel? How would that change your perspective towards others? How might this change how we treat others?

Seeking the approval of others is futile and exhausting. No one is ever completely satisfied, and you can’t please everyone.

Stress can be very overwhelming in our life. It can bog us down and make us ineffective. It can even make us physically sick. However, God has created within us the ability to overcome and reduce those unavoidable stressful situations. Plus, there are stressors we bring on our self and are avoidable. We can and should work to eliminate those stressors. When we do, we will find it is easier to handle those unavoidable times.

I pull up my list on my computer as soon as I walk in on the first day of the summer. I’ll leave it up as a reminder because the start of the school year only happens once a year, obviously. Sometimes it’s easy to forget the little things that need to be done and to make the start of the year smooth or smoother.

Hope is a powerful force. Putting your hope in the right thing can lighten your heart. Putting your hope in the wrong thing can lead to despair.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted but couldn’t think of a better word of encouragement!

Difficult to do as a parent and as educators but may be best thing we could do.
