Film scoring students at IU Jacobs just delivered an unforgettable Double Exposure premiere 🎬

Congratulations to all of the incredible filmmakers, composers, musicians, and creatives who brought this fully student-run cinematic experience to life. Through original scores, live collaboration, and cross-disciplinary teamwork, this is what music scoring for visual media is all about.

The result? A packed house, powerful storytelling, and a night that proved just how impactful student film scoring can be. A huge success from start to finish.

"How can you create a home where there isn't supposed to be one? When you leave, what stays with you of the place that you call home? Is it a smell or a touch or an image or a sound? Who or what is a home?"

An acoustic guitar score that feels lived-in, woven through the diegetic sounds of place, memory, and movement.

🎲 Film 7 of 10 — GAME THEORY 101

"Dom and Kevin, two best friends who enjoy hosting legendary game nights, are pushed to their breaking point by their acquaintance Fitz, who constantly crashes out during games. Fitz is a poor sport, and every time he loses he goes 'nuclear.' Dom and Kevin propose a challenge: one last chance at game night before he is banned forever."

The score moves like the games themselves — from tense to triumphant to completely unhinged.

"When Cassandra, a beautiful soul who has lost her way, goes home, she is faced with a choice: to follow in her mother's footsteps or to be better. This therapeutic film exhibits a combination of anger, resentment, love, loss, but most importantly, hope."

A retro groove with lush vocals and harmonies — Mable's score carries Cassandra's story in song.

"Our actions outlive us, but so will our inactions. We all live with the burden of our regrets and mistakes, but for some of us, we know our time to make amends is running short. In this film, we watch a desperate man try valiantly to do so: his journey reflecting themes of loss, memory, and harsh honesty."

A score as quiet and searching as the man at its center — beautiful, introspective, and unresolved.
