First day fun! We read our first story, Chrysanthemum, practiced using pattern blocks in math, and reflected on the first day of 3rd grade. (for me too!) Thanks to all the friends and family who donated, the students got to bring home their first book!

Hello friends and family!
I am asking for your support. My goal is for every child to get a new book to take home each month! Would anyone be interested in “sponsoring” a child in my class? If I select $1 books, that’s only $10 per child. You could mail me a check made out to Scholastic Book Club, Venmo me money, or follow the link to donate directly to my Scholastic account. Then that child would get a new book to take home each month!
Thank you to those who come back each year.
Thank you to those who are new sponsors.
Thank you for reading this whole post.
Thank you!
Check or Cash: Send me a private message for my address.

Our storm drain stenciling was scheduled for October 3rd. I'm sure glad we planned a rain date because it was a blast! The students enjoyed sharing their knowledge about storm drains with the community around Washburn.

Such a beautiful day to be outside. Started at Fort Snelling State Park then took a trip down the Mississippi River to learn about the importance of keeping it clean.

The students successfully cracked the codes in a Star Wars themed problem solving activity. It was a challenging task, but with a combined effort from all students in each group, they were able to unlock the box!
It's the Read-a-Thon day tomorrow!! Please encourage your child to return their envelope with pledges or their game boards filled out!!
