This classical guitar solo seems pretty unassuming to the untrained eye... and ear ๐Ÿ˜… However, a lot of advanced skills is needed to play this song. ๐ŸŽต ๐ŸŽถ

Although the song itself is serene in nature ๐Ÿ˜Œ it actually requires a high level of right hand control needed to play arpeggios and tremelos. Fast and precise movements of the left hand is also needed to create the different "colors" within the song. Can you see and hear the complexities of the piece in this video?

One of our piano teachers was completely unphased performing in 95-degree weather in concert black!! ๐Ÿฅต

Sympathies and jokes aside, it was a treat seeing Gideon perform at the Entertainment in the Parks event as well as some of our students that braved the weather to showcase their talents. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒž

Thank you City of Richfield for having us and thank you for all the families who came out to support our students and faculty. โค๏ธ๐Ÿซฐ๐Ÿผ

Classical Ukulele explores the expressive, melodic side of the ukulele in a small, welcoming group setting.

Together, we work on classical and fingerstyle repertoire at a steady, approachable pace, with time built in for review and refinement. Players develop right-hand technique, learn to read standard notation and tablature, and gain confidence shaping melody and tone - all within a supportive ensemble atmosphere.

This circle is ideal for adult players who are comfortable with basic chords and strumming and are ready to expand beyond rhythm playing. No prior classical experience is required. Class size is intentionally limited to 6 students to maintain a relaxed, semi-personalized learning environment.

Did you know there were differences between classical guitars and acoustic guitars? If not, you're not alone.

All classical guitars are acoustic guitars, but not all acoustic guitars are classical guitars. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿคฏ They're different in the way the bodies are made, what strings are used, and what type of music is played.

1๏ธโƒฃ Classical guitars are built differently than acoustic guitars. For example, they have wider necks so that there is more spacing between fingers to fret and play more intricate music. Acoustic guitars are built sturdier to withstand the tension from the steel strings. Acoustic guitars have narrower necks and has more curvature to make it easier for fretting.

2๏ธโƒฃ Classical guitars are normally played with nylon strings. Because the strings have less tension, the sound quality nylon strings create is softer and warmer. ๐Ÿ”‰ In contrast, steel strings have more tension and can create louder and brighter sounds. ๐Ÿ”Š

3๏ธโƒฃ The sky is the limit โ˜๏ธ for the type of music you can play on acoustic guitars: pop, folk, blues, singer-songwritwr genres, etc. ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต You can play all these on classical guitars too, but classical music and flamenco are more commonly played. ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Here is one of our students playing a classical guitar piece called Andantino by Matteo Carcassi.
