🎶 Introducing Our First Ever Ukulele Band Camp! 🎶

This summer, Anthem Academy of Music is excited to host our brand-new Ukulele Band Camp! Students will spend the week learning songs, playing together as a band, and building confidence through music. The week concludes with a fun Friday performance for family and friends.

We want to share a project we care about at the academy.

Many families in our wider community have recently been facing uncertainty, and we felt it was important to respond in a way that reflects what we try to build at Anthem. Our school brings together teachers, students, and families from many backgrounds, and we believe a community is strongest when everyone feels welcomed and able to belong.

We are organizing a community fundraiser. 100% of net proceeds will be donated to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, which provides free immigration legal representation to low-income immigrants and refugees in our region.

For many families, reliable legal guidance determines whether they can remain together, keep their jobs, and stay involved in their schools and communities.

We created a small collection of items so anyone who wishes can take part in a simple way. You can learn more and view the items using the link in the comments.

Welcome Nicholas Crist to Anthem Academy of Music!

Nicholas joins us as our new cello instructor, teaching students of all ages and levels. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from Concordia College (where he served as Principal Cellist of the Emmy Award–winning Concordia Orchestra) and a Master of Music from UNLV, where he was Principal Cellist of the UNLV Symphony Orchestra and a founding member of the Aeon String Quartet.

A seasoned performer, Nicholas has participated in masterclasses with world-renowned artists, performed internationally, and currently performs with the Fargo–Moorhead Symphony Orchestra. He also teaches at the University of Minnesota–Morris and serves as Director of Ensembles at Advent Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.

At Anthem, Nicholas emphasizes a healthy, natural technique, expressive artistry, and helping students gain confidence on the cello. We’re thrilled to have his experience and passion guide our students’ musical journeys!

Celebrating an inspiring night for young musicians in our community.

Earlier this week, Anthem had the privilege of participating in the “Merry Axe-mas” fundraiser hosted by Free Guitars 4 Kids. It was an incredible night filled with great local talent such as Ryan Smith of Soul Asylum, Johnny Holm, G.B. Leighton, Billy Johnson, and many others. Our owner, Jeremy, was honored to perform and represent Anthem Academy of Music in such a meaningful event.

One of the highlights of the evening was seeing guitars placed directly into the hands of kids who will now have the opportunity to begin their musical journey. We are especially proud that one of our own Anthem students received a guitar during the event. Moments like that remind everyone why music education matters and how powerful a single instrument can be in a young person’s life.

A sincere thank-you to for their ongoing efforts and for inviting Anthem to be part of such an uplifting night.

We’re excited to share that Jeremy, owner of Anthem Academy of Music, will be performing on behalf of our school at Merry Axe-Mas, a special fundraiser hosted by Free Guitars 4 Kids on Monday, December 8 from 4–8 PM at Luce Line Brewing in Plymouth!

This event helps put guitars into the hands of kids who need it most. Join us for live performances, guitar giveaways, a silent auction, and an inspiring evening supporting a wonderful mission.

🎟 Tickets are available on the Luce Line Brewing website, and each ticket includes one free pour of your choice.

We’re proud to support FG4K and look forward to partnering with them on a special project coming in summer 2026.

Meet our newest instructor, Parker Dietz — now teaching guitar, bass, ukulele, and beginning piano at Anthem Academy of Music!

Parker is a multi-instrumentalist, performer, and passionate educator who has taught hundreds of lessons in the Twin Cities. Inspired by musicians like Jerry Garcia and Django Reinhardt, he brings a deep love for music history, improvisation, and stylistic exploration to his teaching.

A graduate of Normandale Community College’s AFA program — where he earned multiple music scholarships — Parker performs throughout the Twin Cities in folk, country, jazz, and contemporary settings. His lessons focus on ear-training, practical theory, and helping each student develop their own musical voice.

Exciting news! Please join us in welcoming Lizzy Schroeder to the Anthem Academy of Music voice faculty!

Lizzy is a soprano, performer, and passionate educator who helps students discover confidence and joy in their singing. She brings professional performance experience in classical, musical theatre, and contemporary styles — including leading roles in My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, and The Music Man — along with a supportive, student-focused teaching approach.

Her lessons emphasize healthy technique, expressive artistry, and building a strong musical foundation tailored to each student’s goals. We’re thrilled to have her sharing her talents and passion with our community! 💫

🎉 Welcome, Lily Alter! 🎉

We’re thrilled to welcome Lily Alter to the Anthem Academy teaching team! Lily is a dynamic vocalist, pianist, and educator with degrees in Jazz Studies and Vocal Jazz from Western Michigan University and the University of North Texas. She brings award-winning performance experience and a passion for helping students grow in styles like jazz, pop, and musical theater.

🎉 Welcome, Ana Medina Lima!🎉

We’re delighted to welcome Ana Medina Lima to the Anthem Academy teaching team! Ana is a talented flautist and passionate educator currently pursuing her BA in Music Performance at the University of Minnesota. She holds dual degrees in vocal and instrumental music and has been recognized with multiple scholarships for her musical excellence.

Ana brings a strong foundation in music theory and performance, and her warm, encouraging approach helps students grow with confidence, creativity, and a genuine love for music.

Now based in Minnesota, she brings her talent, warmth, and artistry to our growing community.
