Big shout out to Twin Rivers Health Science students we had the pleasure of meeting and teaching Stop the Bleed this week.
Hi ED team!!
Here are some quick reminders about our new trauma processes.
Reminders:
-The trauma checklist must be completed in its entirety and the original returned back to the trauma documentation folder. Please complete each area that is relevant to your patient and don’t forget to complete the back side of the checklist.
-We must have a collaborating ED Physician for determining the trauma activation level and this physician’s name must be documented.
-Information relayed to the hospital operator is crucial as is the information that is relayed from the ED RN to the ED Unit Coordinator.
-Must have mechanism of injury
-Must us the hard criteria that is listed on the trauma flowsheet or discretion
-Must include at a minimum a blood pressure, pulse and respiratory rate. If relevant, a temperature and oxygen saturation level
