I can’t believe that I’m saying this, but it’s just about time to get into “back to school mode!” As much as I love my slow, teacher-on-break mornings, I am slowly starting to look forward to being productive & doing all of the creative lesson planning things in my favorite corner of my classroom. Share 👏 your 👏 classroom library 👏 wishlists 👏 with your friends & family on Facebook! I remember being so overwhelmed with the pressure of having diverse, relevant, & high interest books in my library my first year of teaching. I thought I had to buy all of my own books & honestly spent wayyyyy beyond my means as a first year teacher on stocking my library 🤦🏼‍♀️ Now, I make an amazon list every year based on the Rebecca Caudill nominations (really great list of books on the website if you need some inspiration), & then share on FB. I honestly felt embarrassed to ask the first time I did it. But quickly realized that my friends and family WANTED to help. Don’t be afraid to ask. My list is almost cleared & I can’t wait to add these books to my library 🥺 Any other tips on acquiring books for your classroom? Drop some ideas in the comments!
