🌊🦈 Welcome to the Sharkside! It was a sea of blue at Sheridan during the Shark Kick-Off Assembly! 🩵 Every Shark and Shark Expert received their very own “Welcome to the Sharkside” T-shirt to rock every Sharkwear Wednesday.

But that wasn’t all; the Sheridan Sharks were in for a surprise when the BHS football team captains stopped by to share some inspirational advice and even tossed out some Raider swag! 🏈🎉
What an amazing way to kick off the year on the first Sharkwear Wednesday!


🌊🦈 ¡Bienvenidos al "Sharkside"! ¡Hubo un mar de azul en Sheridan durante la asamblea de inicio del año escolar! 🩵 Cada estudiante y miembro del equipo recibió su propia camiseta de "Welcome to the Sharkside" para lucirla en los miércoles de "Sharkwear".
Pero eso no fue todo: los Sheridan Sharks se llevaron una sorpresa cuando los capitanes del equipo de fútbol americano de BHS pasaron a compartir consejos inspiradores ¡e incluso repartieron artículos promocionales de los Raiders! 🏈🎉

🎉 Check out Sheridan’s new entrance! 🦈
Sheridan is excited to debut its new secure entrance for the school year! 🚪✨ Guests will now be welcomed into the vestibule to easily sign students in or out.

Guardians needing access beyond the secure vestibule will be screened using Crisis-Go for added safety, so don’t forget to bring your driver’s license or state ID!

Students First, Safety Always, Sheridan Sharks: Swimming Strong, Swimming Safe! 💙🦈

🦈🌊 One Week Until Our Sharks Return to the Sheridan Ocean! 🌊🦈

Wednesday, August 19th, we will welcome our Sharks back into our Sheridan Ocean! 💙

🚪 Doors open at 8:45 AM

We invite all of our 1st–5th grade Sharks and their Special Grown-Ups to walk their Shark to their classroom on the first day of school!

From 8:45–9:15 AM, you’ll have the opportunity to:
🦈 Meet your Shark’s Shark Expert
🏫 Help your Shark get settled into their classroom
💙 Start the school year together!

📣 Please note: Dismissal on Wednesday, August 19th will be at 12:05 PM.

🦈 Kindergarten Sharks: You will have a different schedule on this day. Someone from Sheridan will be reaching out to you soon with more information. Your first full day of school will be Thursday, August 20th.

Our Shark Ocean wrapped up 2025-26 strong! Our Sharks participated in Star screeners three times this year in the areas of math and reading. We are pleased to announce that all grade levels made an average of at least 1 year of growth in math and reading since their Spring 2025 screener! This is a challenging accomplishment! Several classrooms were further recognized by D87 with certificates for making at least a year and a half of growth since the fall screeners. Our Shark Experts worked hard to help our Sharks achieve! We are grateful for all of the support we have to help our Sharks grow.
