We have been busy at Compass!!
The puffins have been exploring with dry erase markers and erasers and practicing holding writing utensils.
The seahorses made pumpkin scented playdough....YUM!
The penguins have been learning about different kinds of trees and creating trees in the art area!
The otters have been studying apples by trying different kinds, making applesauce, creating apple stands and selling apples.
The dolphins are beginning a pumpkin study and creating decorations for Halloween!

Today our spotlight is on the otter classroom!
At Compass, we use the Creative Curriculum and the otters are doing the ball study! They have been exploring sensory activities, building with many different kinds of blocks, and exploring the art area!

Our puffin classroom made HUGE bubbles while enjoying this beautiful weather today!
They used concentrated bubbles mixed with water and a bubble wand made out of a stick and yarn. How creative!

Apply for FREE pre-K at www.OnMyWayPreK.org. While we may never use those skills we learned in high school calculus, we all use the skills children learn in pre-K every day! Help your child master basic lifelong skills like zipping a coat and more at pre-K.

Friday June 24th. if you have attended this show in the past, then you know it's a show you don't want to miss! Here are some things you will need to know:
Gates open at 6:00 p.m. (gate 3)
Admission: Free parking but Donations are greatly appreciated! This group volunteers their time and labor for this show. Donations are used to purchase the product.
Participants for the cruise-in please enter gate 1
The best place to see the show is to being your lawn chairs and blankets and sit over on the carnival side.
Live music will start around 8:00 p.m.
There will also be Fair food vendors open.

We are seeking engaged, outgoing staff to be part of a dynamic team working to eradicate generational poverty in Monroe County by providing high quality early childhood education (and other services) to all families, regardless of income. Compass Early Learning Center provides quality care to children ages 1 to 5 years old.
Compass Early Learning Center is currently rated Paths to Quality Level 3 and is pursuing national accreditation through the National Accreditation for the Education of Young Children.
Support staff members engage with children, ensure safety and supervision, assist with learning experiences, and assist with classroom management. A support staff member is part of a three person team including the lead teacher, the assistant, and the support staff. Compass Early Learning Center strives to create a work environment that fosters a positive, collaborative culture.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* CDA or some college preferred (strong preference for those in the education field)
* Drug screen, FBI background check, TB test and health screen required
*Experience with children under the age of 6 in a group setting is strongly preferred
* Full-time assistants/aide may be eligible for the T.E.A.C.H. scholarship, which can be used to earn your Child Development Associate credential, your Early Childhood Technical Certificate, or associate's degree in ECE.
*COVID-19 Vaccination
Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM.
