HALF DAY OF SCHOOL – WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Due to the extreme heat forecast for tomorrow and the high temperatures we are already experiencing inside our classrooms, Bloomingdale Public Schools will have a half day of school tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2.

Dismissal times:
• Middle/High School – 11:10 a.m.
• Bloomingdale Elementary – 11:20 a.m.
• Pullman Elementary – 11:20 a.m.

With temperatures expected to climb further tomorrow, we believe an early dismissal is the appropriate decision for the health and comfort of our students and staff.

Caiyla is joining Bloomingdale Elementary as our Social Worker — and this one is extra special because she’s a Bloomingdale native coming back home to serve the community she grew up in!

She’s excited to get to know our students and families, build relationships, and give back to the place that means so much to her.

Scott brings 16 years of experience in education and is excited to get to know our students, families, staff, and community as he begins his first year at Bloomingdale.

📚 Enrollment is now open for The Cardinal Nest After-School Program at Bloomingdale Elementary! ❤️🖤

This FREE program provides students with a safe, structured environment featuring academic support, enrichment activities, and recreation — all staffed by experienced Bloomingdale Public Schools teachers and paraprofessionals.

⚠️ Space is limited, so families interested in participating are encouraged to enroll soon!

The 2026–27 school year is officially underway, and we are so excited to welcome our students back today!

We hope each of our Cardinals has an amazing first day and a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, new friendships, and plenty of reasons to shine. We’re so proud of our students and can’t wait to see all that this year brings! 📚✨

Just a reminder — the first day is a half day.

🍎 Elementary
• Breakfast: 7:35–8:00 a.m.
• School begins: 8:00 a.m.
• Dismissal: 11:20 a.m.

📚 Middle & High School
• Breakfast: 7:30–7:55 a.m.
• Classes begin: 8:00 a.m.
• Dismissal: 11:10 a.m.

Get a good night’s sleep, get those backpacks ready, and let’s make it a great first day!
