THANK YOU Firefighters Oscar, Jonathan, and Mark for joining us for today! We practiced tying our shoes, we counted our monkeys, we let some birds nest on our heads for a bit, and we read/sang/acted out a classic song about a bus - all in English and Spanish! Afternoon Tea & Dessert Pairing!
We invite you to join us for a special Chinese tea and traditional music event. In this one-hour presentation, we will learn about Chinese gongfu tea, its cultural significance and mythical origins, taste three single-origin teas (green, white, and oolong), and conclude with a guzheng performance.

Chinese gongfu tea is a method of brewing tea with time and effort, allowing us to control the time, temperature, and quantity of the brew to maximize the tea’s flavor. It encourages us to slow down a moment in our day, to focus on what’s in the cup, and appreciate what nature can create. Registration is required: https://bccls.libcal.com/event/17334119

Marjorie Wang grew up in NJ, and attended university in Shanghai, where she fell in love with Chinese teas. After an apprenticeship at NYC's Tea Drunk, she began sharing her passion with local communities through tea tasting events at libraries, community centers, and clubs. She has been playing the guzheng since age 12, and continues to perform at local cultural events.

Fall Storytime programs have officially begun! Today, we practiced our favorite ways to say Hello and danced like some really neat animals. We sang a not-so-famous song about a school bus and received a school bus take-away craft to assemble at home. We had so much fun reading, singing, dancing, and laughing with our friends! 🚌🐾📚
