Drums of Unity

The residents and friends of the Palm Island Estates Association enjoyed a beautiful evening on the beach with Joe Licinski and his Drums of Unity program sharing 40 of his djembe drums. Joe taught the participants how to play the drums using fun songs, phrases and syllables of words to teach the beats and rhythms. Thank you Kelly for organizing this fun Memorial Day weekend event!

After church and a luncheon, Joe Licinski led a fun drum circle activity in the fellowship hall with his friends at Community Presbyterian Church in Englewood, Florida. He shared his djembe drums and taught rhythms using fun phrases and syllables of words. It sounded amazing! Thank you Laurie for organizing this event.

A special THANK YOU to the Friends of The Elsie Quirk Library for sponsoring the Drums of Unity event today with Joe Licinski shaking the walls of the library teaching the participants new beats and rhythms. The new fun rhythms of the day were "Fluffer Nutter" and "Boom-sha-ka-la-ka".

Joe Licinski and his Drums of Unity activity was invited to celebrate Hospitality week with the residents and staff at Heritage Oaks of Englewood this morning. Joe brought in 35 full sized African djembe drums for the participants who learned to play the drums and connected through rhythm, laughter and the joy of making music together. Thank you Marissa for organizing this fun event!

Joe Licinski and the residents at A Banyan Residence Assisted Living Resort in Venice Florida enjoy getting together every month in the beautiful outdoor gardens for a Drums of Unity activity. They all play Joe's African djembe drums that Joe teaches using fun phrases to easily learn the beats and rhythms. "Chicken Banana" is one of their favorites!

Calling all kids! Joe Licinski will be hosting a Drums of Unity Event for kids at the Englewood Elsie Quirk Library on Saturday, April 25th at 10:30am for ages up to 18 years old. There is no fee to attend, however registration is required. Click on the link here to register. Spread the word!

The Drums of Unity program at the Englewood Florida- Charlotte Library has had so much interest that Joe Licinski has been invited to teach this amazingly fun class the 4th Tuesday of every month at 1pm. There is no experience needed and no cost to attend but registration is required. The link to register will be posted monthly.
