This week held another final lesson for a longtime student - Katherine. There are so many things I could say about this young woman. Even as a middle schooler, she amazed me with her dedication and drive. Always going above and beyond, always rising to every challenge I threw her way. I remember the first time I heard her sing, and couldn’t believe the gorgeous, rich alto voice coming from that little girl. I am in awe of your talent, and so proud of all you have accomplished. I can’t wait to see where life takes you next! It’s not goodbye, it’s just “see you later.” 🎶💞

As the end of the summer draws near, it’s the season of final lessons for my seniors who are heading off to college in the next couple of weeks. Today was Samantha’s last lesson (for now!), and it was so bittersweet. After 10 years of lessons, it will definitely feel strange to not see her every week. I am so proud of all the things she has accomplished in her musical studies and beyond, and I cannot wait to see where life takes her! Definitely cried my way through the end of her lesson today as we sang through favorite songs from years past. Saying goodbye to students and their parents who have become like family over the years; that is the hardest part of my job. But how lucky am I that I get to build these relationships. Sam - I’ll be cheering you on in all that you do!! 👩‍🎓
