The Bloomfield Safety Council is made up of community members, local government representatives and other safety professionals. The purpose of the organization is to inform and educate residents of Bloomfield Township on important safety guidelines and support the efforts of safety professionals. The Bloomfield Safety council coordinates and distributes information on traffic safety, bike safety, home safety, school safety, fire safety, and many more important safety issues. We hold annual fundraisers to help Bloomfield Township pay for bicycle racks, newly painted crosswalks, pedestrian signs and other safety needs. We are currently seeking candidates for President to lead this wonderful organization that's been a cornerstone of Bloomfield for over 75 years. Please attend our upcoming meeting to learn more about how you can participate and/or run for office. Any questions, please contact Tania Hababo-Enders at 201-951-5716 or [email protected]

We have just learned from NJSFDA that scammers have stepped up their efforts to obtain Social Security Numbers from NJ families by checking obituaries. Scammers contact surviving family members by telephone posing as funeral home staff or funeral directors. They claim that the funeral home needs surviving family member’s Social Security Number in order to complete necessary paperwork. Please do not share SSN with people over the phone regardless of the fact that the funeral home’s business telephone number flashes up on your ID. If you receive such call, contact police.
